Your written submission must be submitted on the specified category entry template in no more than 10 single-sided pages of A4 paper. Judges and organiser reserve the right to disqualify an entry if the page limit is not adhered to.

Entries and nominations will be accepted from the entire Japan and Korea region. All entries should relate to achievements ONLY during the period 1 October 2017 – 30 September 2018.

JUDGES & JUDGING
The Japan/Korea Agency of the Year judging panel will comprise a minimum of five client marketers and senior Campaign editors.

In the first round of judging, judges will review and score entries independently and the scores will be sent directly to PricewaterhouseCoopers to verify the shortlist. The jury will then meet to discuss shortlisted entries in both the people and agency categories.

The judges’ decisions are final. Awards will be made at the discretion of the judges based on a scoring system and no feedback or correspondence will be entered into about the results.

The results will be compiled by PwC.

    Cecilia Siu is Director of Communications, Brand Experience and Corporate Citizenship of IBM Japan since March 2017. She is responsible for corporate communications, corporate affairs, public relations, employee communications, executive communications and corporate citizenship.

    Prior to joining IBM, Cecilia served as the Director of both the Marketing Communications and Communications functions of GE Healthcare in Asia Pacific, a division of General Electric Company (GE). In this role, she initiated many programs that were firsts for GE in Asia. In 2011, she led the roll-out of GE healthmagination initiative using thought leadership, customer events, success case studies and digital marketing and won the Global GE Healthcare Gold Standard Marketing Winner award.

    Cecilia has a passion for digital and is constantly looking at ways to leverage data and insights to shape communications and marketing programs.

    Cecilia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from McMaster University in Canada.

    DongHyop Shin is the Head of Marketing at Volkswagen Korea in Seoul, leading all marketing communications from new car launching to brand marketing communications. He majored his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at Sogang University in Seoul, and earned his MBA at Cornell University in NY, USA. He has various ranges of marketing experiences starting his career at IBM to Citibank, and Samsung Card in Korea. From his 18 years professional marketing experiences, he has shown his leadership leading to successful business outcome working with many global and local agencies.

    Akira Mitsumasu has been with Japan Airlines for 29 years. As VP of Products and Services, he is currently responsible for managing and innovating customer experience. Previous to his current role, Akira was VP of Marketing and Strategy for JAL’s Asian and Oceania Region. For his marketing achievements, Akira has been awarded Asia’s Best Marketer 2016 by CMO Asia, Greatest Marketing Influencers 2016 by BBC Knowledge, 50 Most Influential Global Marketing Leaders by World Marketing Congress, Best Leader in Marketing Strategy 2016 by Global Brands Magazine, Business Leader of the Year – ICON (Branding & Marketing) by World Federation of Marketing. Akira holds a DBA from Hitotsubashi University in Japan.

    Elaine Chum is the Head of Digital for Philips ASEAN Pacific for the Consumer and Health Care business, and comes with a wealth of experience in Digital. In the 4 years at her current role at Philips, she led the digital transformation journey and setup of The PULSE which focuses on end-to-end digital management, performance management and driving DROI across activations in the region. The work of her team has won the acclaim of various industry awards in the region.

    She first joined Philips 12 years ago, where she worked on digital strategy & enablement and digital marketing communication roles for the consumer business focusing on Europe and China at the Philips headquarters in Amsterdam. After 7 years, Elaine moved on as the Digital Lead for South Korea. Prior to Philips, she worked at Carlson Marketing Worldwide Singapore, a loyalty agency, managing clients with digital portfolio, such as ExxonMobil, SK-II and Guinness for Southeast Asia.

    Previously, Jon was the MD in charge of the Asia operations at Kreab, a consultancy specializing in strategic communications and public affairs. Jon also led AIG’s corporate communications and corporate affairs teams in Japan and Korea, and was with Microsoft in corporate affairs and government facing roles, posted in Tokyo and Singapore.

In a creative audit of all Samsung business units, JungChi’s group was ranked No. 1 for four years running.

    His experience includes a country head position at a global dotcom company, a consultant, an Ad professional at top Ad agencies.

    Across his career, he has been honored with numerous awards for creativity and innovation, including winning the Best Innovation Achievement prize.

    With broad consumer and commercial, marketing, branding and behavior change experience, Matt has held various leadership roles with HSBC, WPP, Telstra and other multinationals throughout Asia Pacific. Matt graduated in Marketing at R MIT and studied his Masters in Digital Strategy at Victoria University in Australia.

    In his spare time, he is also on the Global CMO Advisory Council Board and has developed and lectured Post Grad University Strategic Marketing Courses in Melbourne and Tokyo. He is also a regular judge at the annual Asia Pacific Marketing Awards. Matthew is the Chairman of the Australia New Zealand Chamber of Commerce Japan Sports Committee.

His expertise spans product marketing, customer experience and brand management, with comprehensive digital and data capability extending across B2C and B2B marketing, multi-channels, social media, insights and analytics. His proven skills include strategy development and implementation, customer segmentation, value proposition development, customer acquisition, growth and retention as well as data-driven performance tracking.

    Prior to joining AIG, Michael was Head of Brand and Reputation at TAL Dai-ichi Life. Prior to that, he held multiple roles at Suncorp General Insurance leading the sales and marketing efforts for several mass market and niche brands for consumer and commercial product lines. His last role was Executive Manager of Brand Portfolio Planning and Effectiveness. Prior to Suncorp, Michael held a variety of senior customer strategy and experience and product marketing roles at Westpac Banking Corporation and Optus Telecommunications respectively.

Then moved to marketing area as a product manager at Johnson &Johnson in both US and Japan, Executive Director at Dell Inc. as a head of Asia-Pacific/Japan Consumer Marketing, a Senior Vice President, IMC, Marketing and New Businesses at Coca-Cola (Japan) Company.

    Suzuki received a bachelor degree in Portuguese language and Brazilian studies from Sophia University, and MBA from Arthur D. Little School of Management (HULT).
